World Football Summit has announced Peter Moore, CEO of Liverpool, will make his debut as a speaker at WFS 2019, to be held in Madrid on the 24th and 25th of September.

Mr. Moore, arguably one of the most innovative profiles in the football industry, was appointed Chief Executive of the Merseyside club after a successful career in the video game business.

He led EA’s Competitive Gaming Division where he brought to life new global competitions for EA franchises including FIFA, Madden NFL, and Battlefield. Prior to that Peter served as Chief Operating Officer of EA, providing strategic leadership for all global operations that enabled the brand to bring products to market via retail and digital direct-to-consumer channels.

He also held the position of President of EA Sports, overseeing the delivery of some of the top-selling sports videogames from franchises including FIFA, Madden NFL, NCAA Football and NHL and overseeing the growth of the FIFA Interactive World Cup.

His work at EA Sports made him such popular figure in the gaming industry that he was portrayed in a South Parkepisode in 2011.

Born and raised in Liverpool and a lifelong supporter of the Reds, Moore moved back home from the United States to join the club in 2017. He is responsible for all business, commercial and operational areas of the Club – reporting directly to the Club’s ownership, Fenway Sports Group.

In this time, Peter has proved to be a true game changer. He has brought a Silicon Valley approach to the football table. He is equally committed to lifting silverware as he is to win a match that goes far beyond the pitch: the one played on the TV screens and electronic devices for young people’s attention around the world. The battle that will truly condition the future of the industry.

Mr. Moore has raised awareness of the need “to harness technology to make sure we don’t miss an entire generation of young people growing up that don’t have that love for football”.

That’s why, in his first full year in charge Liverpool not only reached the UEFA Champions League final but also recorded 463 million interactions across their four main social media channels, just behind Manchester United. Under his leadership, the club has also established alliances with leading techs such as IBM to optimise their website and apps so that they can provide fans with personalised and relevant content that they are more likely to consume.

Mr. Moore is the first speaker to be confirmed for WFS 2019, the landmark event for the football industry that will gather the sport’s leading executives in Madrid for the fourth consecutive year. In the next few weeks, we will be announcing new participants.
